Every product starts somewhere. DateWarden started with panic.
One morning, I woke up with that unmistakable sinking feeling, the sudden realisation that something important had been missed. My car’s MOT had expired. That very day.
What followed was a frantic scramble to book an appointment, rearrange plans, and deal with the unnecessary stress that came with it. And once the immediate panic passed, a simple thought stuck with me: There has to be a better way.

It Turns Out I’m Not Alone
The more I thought about it, the more obvious it became; this wasn’t just my problem.
So many of us juggle important dates every day, relying on reminders, emails, letters, or our own memory. And yet deadlines still sneak up on us.
Research shows that:
- Around 25% of people have let their insurance lapse at least once
- About 10% have attempted to travel on an expired passport
The issue isn’t that we don’t care.
It’s that life gets busy, reminders get ignored, and “I’ll do it later” turns into “it’s too late”.

The Idea Behind DateWarden
That morning was the moment the idea for DateWarden really took shape.
I imagined a simple, shareable renewals hub, one place where all the important dates in your life (and the lives of the people you care about) could live together. No scattered notes. No forgotten emails and last‑minute panic.
Something clear. Reliable. Hard to ignore.
As a Bespoke Software Development company based in Poole, UK, we had the skills to build it properly. So we did.
What We Built
DateWarden is designed for the worrier in all of us, the part that just wants to know everything is under control.
It includes:
- An intuitive dashboard with a clear timeline of your expiry dates
- Email reminders that actually get your attention
- Simple sharing, so the right people always know what’s coming up
The goal is straightforward: peace of mind.
One Year In
We spent a year building DateWarden, refining it, testing it, and listening carefully to early feedback. What started as a personal frustration has grown into a product we genuinely believe can make life a little less stressful, for individuals, families, and organisations alike.
If you’re here reading this, thank you. Whether you’re curious, cautious, or already using DateWarden, we’re glad you’re part of the journey.
I’m really looking forward to hearing what you think.
